CCFL Driver Converter
Hyacinth Technology, Inc. announces the development of a CCFL Driver Converter geared for use
in rugged applications. The new products are designed to have the following features:

 Universal application - these units are deisgned to work with
a wide variety of CCFL tubes with
different strike and running voltages.
Multi-lamp capability - up to 6 lamps per converter unit
PWM interface - A PWM interface allows wide range dimming through the
use of externally
created PWM signals up to 1kHz.
Enhanced high-voltage insulation - The transformer is encapsulated to provide superior
protection against arcing and corona. Extra high-voltage insulation is provided on
traces
and components on the PCB to allow operation of the converter unit within a 1.00 inch
metal cavity
without requiring additional insulation.
PI-wound high-voltage transformer - allows even distribution of inter-winding capacitance
as well as dielectric stresses.
Enhanced thermal management - provisions for transferring heat from dissipative
components
to the mounting surface allow reliable operation with limited or no airflow.
Efficient, low noise operation - synchronized Royer and buck converters as well as low leakage
magnetic components minimize the possibility of EMI related issues.
